Now that he enters his high school career, Satomi Koutaro begins his life living alone in an apartment that only costs him 5000 yen per month, an extremely cheap deal even for this small apartment. There’s a catch: the apartment is apparently haunted by a cute ghost that has driven its prior occupants away. Next thing he knows, not only is there a ghost trying to drive him out of his new home, but magical girls and other unique female characters turn this small apartment into a battleground of sorts.

Where it came from
Invaders of the Rokujoma!? began as a light novel series written by Takehaya with illustrations by Poco, which was first published in 2009. The premise centers on a young man who moves into an affordable apartment that happens to be haunted by a ghost and subsequently targeted by various supernatural entities. The narrative blends harem comedy with fantasy elements, focusing on the comedic power struggles between the characters as they compete for control over the small living space.
The 2014 anime adaptation was produced by the studio SILVER LINK and directed by Shin Oonuma. The production aimed to translate the light novel’s lighthearted, character-driven chaos into a visual format, maintaining the bright aesthetic established by the original illustrations. Upon its release, the series was received as a quintessential example of the genre's mid-2010s output, noted for its focus on situational comedy and its distinct ensemble cast.
