IS: Infinite Stratos 2 - Hitonatsu no Omoide

Infinite Stratos 2: Hitonatsu no Omoide was released in 2013 as an original video animation (OVA) serving as an episodic expansion to the second season of the Infinite Stratos anime series. Produced by the studio 8bit and distributed with music and promotional backing from Lantis, the episode was designed as a fan-focused summer vacation special. It leans heavily into the light novel series' established harem genre tropes, prioritizing character-driven downtime in a beach setting over the high-stakes mechanical combat featured in the primary narrative.

The production team maintained the visual identity established in the television series, focusing on high-energy aesthetic sensibilities and character designs derived from the light novels written by Izuru Yumizuru and illustrated by CHOCO. Upon its release, the OVA was received as a standard piece of supplemental media for the franchise, aimed primarily at existing viewers who sought more interaction between the protagonist, Ichika Orimura, and the core cast of female leads. It remains a representative example of the mid-2010s trend of producing standalone beach-themed episodes to maintain brand momentum between major broadcast cycles.
