Where it came from
Infinite Stratos 2: Infinite Wedding was released in 2016 as an original video animation (OVA) serving as a special addition to the Infinite Stratos franchise. Produced by studio 8-bit, the episode was designed to provide a lighthearted, fan-focused narrative shift from the series' typical mecha-combat premise. It centers on a wedding-themed scenario involving the primary heroines, reflecting the franchise's emphasis on character-driven romantic comedy tropes.
The animation maintains the aesthetic established by the second television series, focusing on high-energy character interactions and elaborate costume designs. While the series has often been noted for its divisive reception regarding its balance of action and harem elements, the Infinite Wedding special was created specifically to cater to established fans of the light novel series by Izuru Yumizuru, offering a self-contained, whimsical conclusion to the narrative arcs presented in the anime's second season.
