Where it came from
Is the Order a Rabbit??, the second season of the anime adaptation based on Koi's four-panel manga, was produced by studio WHITE FOX and aired in 2015. Following the success of the 2014 debut, this installment continued the story of Cocoa Hoto and her life at the Rabbit House café. The series fits firmly within the 'iyashikei' or healing genre, focusing on low-stakes, heartwarming interactions among its female cast, a trend that gained significant traction in the mid-2010s.
The character designs were handled by Yosuke Okuda, who aimed to preserve the soft, rounded aesthetic of the original manga while translating it into the fluid motion required for television. By emphasizing whimsical cafe settings and a pastel color palette, the visual direction sought to create a relaxing atmosphere for the viewer. It was received as a competent continuation of the source material, praised by fans for its consistency in tone and charm despite the lack of significant structural changes from the first season.
