Where it came from
It'll be fine! is a 2024 anime short film produced by OLM, commissioned by the Japanese beverage company Suntory. It was created as part of a commercial campaign to promote the brand's 'Pop' soda series, following a trend of major Japanese corporations collaborating with established animation studios to craft high-quality, narrative-driven promotional content that appeals to younger demographics.
The film was directed by Shinji Itadaki, a veteran animator known for his work on various OLM projects. The aesthetic choices lean into the nostalgic, atmospheric style often found in slice-of-life anime, aiming to evoke a sense of comfort and optimism amidst daily struggles. Upon its release, it was well-received by the animation community for its fluid character movement and emotive visual storytelling, serving as a successful example of commercial art that transcends its advertising origins.
