Jeremy no Ki

Jeremy no Ki, or The Tree of Jeremy, was released in 1983 as an animated feature film produced by the Japanese studio Group TAC. It emerged during a fertile period for Japanese animation, where studios were increasingly exploring philosophical and metaphorical storytelling. The film reflects the studio's interest in blending traditional artistic sensibilities with the burgeoning narrative complexities characteristic of the era's independent anime productions.

The production was helmed by director and writer Kazuyuki Izutsu, who sought to craft a poignant, allegorical experience that stood apart from the more action-oriented trends of the early 1980s. While it remains a relatively obscure title in the broader international market, it is respected among enthusiasts for its deliberate pacing and atmospheric visual language, serving as a representative example of Group TAC’s dedication to thoughtful, non-commercial animation projects during that decade.
