Jiu Jiu Ba Shi Yi

Jiu Jiu Ba Shi Yi is an original net animation produced by the Chinese platform Bilibili, released to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army. The production was intended to bridge the gap between traditional state-sponsored historical messaging and the visual language of contemporary internet culture, targeting a younger, digital-native demographic.

The animation features a distinct art style that blends stylized character design with a vibrant, modern aesthetic, moving away from traditional propaganda formats. By utilizing a high-energy musical format and polished digital animation, the project sought to reposition historical narratives as accessible, aspirational content. While it received attention for its innovative approach to state-aligned media, the work remains a niche example of Bilibili's capacity to synthesize nationalist themes with domestic anime production techniques.
