Juugo Shounen Hyouryuuki: Kaizoku-jima DE! Daibouken

Juugo Shounen Hyouryuuki: Kaizoku-jima DE! Daibouken was released in 2014 by Studio Kelmadick as an animated feature film adaptation. The project draws its thematic inspiration from Jules Verne's 1888 novel Two Years' Vacation, reimagining the classic survival narrative for a contemporary Japanese animation audience. The film focuses on a group of young students who find themselves stranded on a mysterious island, tasked with navigating the challenges of survival while contending with maritime threats.

The production sought to balance the spirit of 19th-century adventure literature with the visual aesthetics typical of mid-2010s mid-budget anime films. Studio Kelmadick, known for its work on various educational and niche animated projects, focused on delivering a streamlined narrative intended for younger viewers. While the film did not achieve widespread international distribution or major critical acclaim, it remains a notable example of Japanese studio interpretations of Western literary staples during that period.
