Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!: Zankyou-hen

Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!: Zankyou-hen, or The Eminence in Shadow: Lost Echoes, was announced by Kadokawa following the conclusion of the second season of the anime adaptation. The series originates from the light novel written by Daisuke Aizawa and illustrated by Tozai, which centers on Cid Kagenou, a protagonist who cultivates a persona of a background character while secretly orchestrating global events to satisfy his desire to become a mastermind. The project aims to continue the narrative expansion of this meta-fictional satire into a cinematic format.

The animation production continues under the oversight of Kadokawa, maintaining the creative tone established by the previous television series. The design philosophy of the franchise emphasizes the juxtaposition between the mundane life of the protagonist and his elaborate, hyperbolic delusions, which the studio visualizes through high-contrast action sequences and stylized character archetypes. As a cinematic entry, this title is intended to broaden the scope of the original web novel source material while retaining the series' established aesthetic and comedic structure.
