Where it came from
Kagerou Daze: in a days is a short film released in 2016, serving as a cinematic component of the Kagerou Project, a multimedia franchise originally created by the musician and author Jin. The project began as a series of Vocaloid songs before expanding into light novels and manga, building a complex narrative universe centered on a group of teenagers with supernatural abilities tied to their eyes.
The production was handled by Studio Juumonji and directed by the project's creator, Jin. The film experiment utilized 4DX technology, intended to provide an immersive experience for the audience. While fans of the expansive Kagerou Project welcomed the adaptation, it was primarily received as a supplementary, stylized visual experience that prioritized the aesthetic and musical atmosphere of the franchise over a traditional feature-length narrative structure.
