Kakenukete Good-bye

Kakenukete Good-bye is a Japanese television drama produced by NHK and broadcast in 1990. It belongs to the tradition of NHK's high-quality domestic dramas, which often focus on intimate human relationships and the nuances of contemporary Japanese life. The production was part of the network's long-standing effort to provide thoughtful, narrative-driven storytelling for a general audience during a period of transition in Japanese television.

The production is notable for its exploration of interpersonal themes characteristic of late-Showa and early-Heisei era dramas. As an NHK production, it benefited from the studio's extensive resources and commitment to craftsmanship, relying on established screenwriters and directors who prioritized character development over sensationalism. While it remains a niche entry in NHK's vast archive, it is recognized by fans of classic Japanese television for its specific period aesthetic and the professional polish typical of the network's work in the early 1990s.
