Kakyuusei 2: Hitomi no Naka no Shoujo-tachi

Kakyuusei 2: Hitomi no Naka no Shoujo-tachi was released in 2004 as a television anime adaptation based on the adult visual novel series of the same name. Produced by studio ARMS, the series emerged during a period when the developer, Elf, was heavily licensing its interactive fiction properties for transition into animation. The project aimed to capture the romantic and dramatic tone established by the original game, focusing on the high school life of the protagonist and his interactions with various female classmates.

The production utilized a character design aesthetic consistent with mid-2000s anime trends, emphasizing soft, expressive features typical of harem and dating-sim adaptations of the era. While the series was intended to broaden the appeal of the franchise to a wider television audience, it received a mixed reception from viewers. Critics and fans often compared it to the 1999 original anime adaptation, with the 2004 version noted for its departure from the grittier, more atmospheric style of its predecessor in favor of a more polished, contemporary look.
