Where it came from
Kanan-sama wa Akumade Choroi, known in English as Kanan-sama is Easy as Pie, originated as a manga series written and illustrated by Nonco. It began serialization in 2021, focusing on a comedic romance involving a demoness who struggles to maintain a menacing persona when faced with the genuine kindness of her target. The series gained popularity for its lighthearted subversion of supernatural tropes, leading to a television anime adaptation.
The second season of the anime continues the narrative established by the initial production, maintaining the character designs and stylistic choices that emphasize the series' blend of fantasy and slapstick humor. The adaptation was received as a faithful expansion of the source material, capturing the charm of the original illustrations while utilizing the medium of animation to enhance the comedic timing and character interactions for a broader audience.
