Kantoku Fuyuki Todoki

Kantoku Fuyuki Todoki, translated as 'Director's Careless Instructions,' is a 2014 short-form anime series produced by the studio DLE. It serves as a comedic autobiographical adaptation of the manga by Moyoco Anno, which chronicles her daily life and marriage to the renowned film director Hideaki Anno. The series provides an intimate, often humorous look at the domestic life of the couple, highlighting the contrast between the director's intense professional persona and his idiosyncratic private habits.

The animation style employs DLE's signature minimalist, Flash-based aesthetic, which focuses on rapid-fire dialogue and comedic timing rather than fluid motion. This approach was intentional, allowing the series to feel like a visual diary or a candid sketch. Upon its release, the series was received as a gentle, quirky tribute to the creative process and the everyday realities of living with a visionary artist, offering fans of Hideaki Anno a rare, lighthearted glimpse into his personal world.
