Katarina Nounai Kaigi X

Katarina Nounai Kaigi X, released in 2021, represents a specialized entry in the broader My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! franchise. Produced by the studio AQUA ARIS, this ONA was developed as a supplemental project to provide fans with an intimate, comedic look into the protagonist Katarina Claes's inner monologue, often referred to as her council of brain-dwellers. These shorts were designed to expand upon the character's internal decision-making process, utilizing a distinct, simplified visual style that contrasts with the main anime series to emphasize the absurdity of Katarina's internal dilemmas.

The creative direction for this series focused on maintaining the lighthearted spirit of the original light novels written by Satoru Yamaguchi. By isolating the character's internal council, the animators aimed to distill the charm of the series into digestible vignettes that rely heavily on character-driven humor and voice acting. Upon its release, it was received primarily as a niche treat for the existing fanbase, serving as a clever bridge between major seasons and helping to solidify the franchise's reputation for prioritizing character depth and comedic timing.
