Kibun wa Uaa Jitsuzai OL Kouza

Released in 1994 by Studio Group TAC, Kibun wa Uaa: Jitsuzai OL Kouza serves as an experimental adaptation of the manga series by Kie Ichinoseki. The project emerged during the mid-nineties animation boom, reflecting a growing interest in office culture and the specific anxieties faced by Japanese female office workers, known as 'OLs' or office ladies. It functioned as a satirical guide to professional life, blending slice-of-life comedy with the distinct narrative quirks common to the era's original video animation market.

The animation design sought to translate Ichinoseki's unique artistic sensibility into a functional format for home video consumption. While the series was aimed at a niche demographic interested in workplace satire, its reception was tempered by its unconventional pacing and specific topical humor. It remains a documented example of how boutique animation studios experimented with adult-oriented, character-driven storytelling throughout the 1990s.
