Terryman, Robin Mask, and the other Justice Choujins are participating in a tournament in New York. Suddenly, Akuma Shogun (not the same as the guy from the series) arrives and defeats all of the Justice Choujins and absorbs their power... all except Kinnikuman (who was late for the tournament because he was busy eating gyuudon). Now Kinnikuman must defeat Akuma Shogun, whom now posseses the combined strength of all the Justice Choujins.

Where it came from
Released in 1986 during the peak of the Kinnikuman franchise's popularity, Kinnikuman: New York Kikiippatsu! served as the second feature film based on Yudetamago's hit manga and anime series. Produced by Toei Animation, the film was designed to capitalize on the success of the television series by placing the titular hero and his fellow Chojin wrestlers in an international setting, specifically New York City, to battle a new array of antagonistic forces.
The film was helmed by director Takenori Kawada, who aimed to deliver a high-energy, episodic experience that mirrored the dramatic wrestling tropes established in the manga. Like many Toei anime projects of the mid-eighties, the visual direction leaned into the bold, muscular character designs that had made the franchise a cultural phenomenon in Japan. It was received by fans as a fun, standalone expansion of the Kinnikuman universe, fitting comfortably into the established canon of the era's shonen animation.
