Kinnikuman no Koutsuu Anzen

Kinnikuman no Koutsuu Anzen, or Kinnikuman's Traffic Safety, was produced in the mid-1980s as a specialized educational OVA. Released during the height of the original manga and anime series' popularity, it was commissioned as a public service tool to teach primary school children the rules of road safety and pedestrian caution. By leveraging the immense appeal of Yudetamago's iconic wrestling characters, the production aimed to capture the attention of a young demographic that might otherwise have ignored more traditional, dry instructional videos.

The animation was handled by Toei Animation, maintaining the aesthetic of the television series broadcast at the time. The narrative places Kinnikuman and his allies in everyday urban settings, contrasting their superhuman wrestling personas with the relatable, mundane risks of crossing busy intersections or cycling near traffic. While not a conventional entry in the series canon, it remains a notable example of Japanese edutainment from the era, where popular pop-culture icons were frequently repurposed to instill civic responsibility in the younger generation.
