Kosuke-sama Rikimaru-sama: Konpeitou no Ryuu

Kosuke-sama Rikimaru-sama: Konpeitou no Ryuu was produced by J.C.Staff and released in 1988 as an original video animation. It serves as an early example of the studio's output during their formative years, arriving at a time when the OVA market in Japan was expanding rapidly, allowing smaller or newer studios to experiment with shorter, self-contained narratives outside the constraints of television broadcast schedules.

The animation focuses on the comedic and fantastical dynamic between the two titular characters, drawing on the whimsical aesthetic sensibilities common in late 1980s Japanese animation. While the title remains a relatively obscure relic of the era, it reflects the studio's early dedication to character-driven storytelling and clean, expressive line work, which helped establish their reputation before they became a dominant force in the industry in subsequent decades.
