Where it came from
KoSys! Kochira Keihime Tetsudou: Kouhou System-ka was released in 2014 as a promotional original net animation for the Keihin Electric Express Railway, commonly known as Keikyu. The series was designed to modernize the railway company's image, utilizing the popular anthropomorphic character trend in Japanese media to build a more approachable connection with local commuters and rail enthusiasts.
The production focused on the fictional PR division of the railway, featuring characters who embody the company's rolling stock. By blending technical railway details with lighthearted, slice-of-life storytelling, the project aimed to foster regional pride and increase brand awareness among a younger demographic. It remains a notable example of Japanese corporate entities leveraging anime-style branding to humanize public transit services.
