Where it came from
Kyapi is a mascot character originating from the multimedia project BanG Dream!, specifically associated with the band RAISE A SUILEN. The character was developed by the studio SANZIGEN, which handled the 3D animation for the franchise's anime series, notably BanG Dream! 3rd Season and the spin-off series BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! Pico. The mascot serves as a thematic representation of the band's electronic and high-energy aesthetic, functioning as an iconic design element within the franchise's visual branding.
The design of Kyapi reflects the studio's proficiency in blending stylized, expressive 3D character work with the aesthetic demands of anime idol and music franchises. SANZIGEN intended for the character to act as a recognizable visual shorthand for the intensity and modern production style associated with RAISE A SUILEN. Upon its introduction, the character became a fixture in promotional materials and merchandise, receiving positive recognition from the franchise's dedicated fanbase for its distinct, vibrant appearance.
