Lagrange: The Flower of Rin-ne Season 2

Lagrange: The Flower of Rin-ne, known in Japan as Rinne no Lagrange, was produced by the animation studio Xebec, with Production I.G providing significant creative collaboration and production support. The series was designed as a multi-media project aimed at promoting the city of Kamogawa, Japan, with the second season released in 2012 to conclude the narrative arc following the protagonist Madoka Kyouno and her involvement with extraterrestrial mecha combat.

The character designs were handled by Takuya Chanohara, based on original concepts by Peach-Pit, the duo also known for works like Rozen Maiden. The series gained attention for its integration of actual Kamogawa landmarks into the background art and its focus on female-driven mecha action. While the series was praised for its vibrant animation and ambitious world-building, it is often remembered as an unconventional entry in the mecha genre that prioritized themes of friendship and reconciliation over traditional military conflict.
