Where it came from
Legend of Exorcism 2, produced by bilibili, serves as the second season of the animated adaptation of the popular web novel by Feitian Yexiang. Released following the critical success of the first season, the production was handled by Sparkly Key Animation, aiming to translate the intricate world-building and character dynamics of the Tang Dynasty fantasy setting into a high-fidelity 3D CGI format. The narrative continues the journey of Kong Hongjun as he joins the Exorcism Department, maintaining the studio's commitment to dynamic action sequences and elaborate period costuming.
The series design is noted for its visual ambition, specifically the detailed rendering of mythical creatures and the sprawling landscape of Chang'an. The production team focused on refining the character models and emotional expressions to deepen the audience's engagement with the evolving relationships between the primary cast. Upon its release, the second season was received as a significant entry in the Chinese 3D animation landscape, praised for its technical improvements and fidelity to the tone of the source material.
