Ling Feng Zhe

Ling Feng Zhe, or The Soul Spirit, is an original network animation (ONA) produced by Wawayu Animation. Released in a competitive domestic landscape for Chinese animation during the late 2010s, the series was designed to showcase the studio's increasing proficiency in 3D-assisted storytelling. It functions as a reflection of the burgeoning trend of xianxia-inspired narratives, aiming to blend traditional martial arts aesthetics with a modern, fast-paced episodic structure intended for online streaming platforms.

The visual identity of Ling Feng Zhe is defined by the studio's signature approach to character movement and environment rendering, which prioritizes fluidity to capture the gravity-defying combat sequences characteristic of the genre. Upon release, the series was received as a standard entry in the studio's portfolio, contributing to the broader movement of professionalized Chinese web animation. It is regarded by collectors as an example of Wawayu's technical evolution during a period when the studio sought to establish a distinct voice within the expanding digital animation market.
