In the not-too-distant future, the human world has long been overpopulated. Humanity marched to the stars in search of a new home, and just as this was going on, the moon's alignment caused massive earthquakes to ripple across the world, lasting several decades. Humanity was demolished. When the land finally recovered, humanity reemerged to face this strange yet familiar world. Will we, who once lorded over this domain, still remain the masters of this world?

Where it came from
Ling Cage: Incarnation is a Chinese original net animation produced by Bilibili and developed by the studio YHKT Entertainment. Premiering in 2019, the series was conceived as a high-budget venture into post-apocalyptic science fiction, aiming to establish a distinct aesthetic within the domestic animation market. It explores themes of environmental collapse, social stratification, and human survival, set aboard a floating fortress known as the Lighthouse.
The visual direction, characterized by its gritty industrial design and motion-captured character animation, sought to blend Western-style cinematic pacing with narrative sensibilities popular in Chinese speculative fiction. The series received significant critical attention for its ambitious world-building and technical execution, often being cited as a milestone in the maturation of 3D-animated series distributed through digital platforms in China.
