Love: Sayonara wa Iwanai

Love: Sayonara wa Iwanai is a Japanese visual novel released in the late 1990s, emerging during a period when the genre was defining its narrative identity through a mix of romantic drama and character-driven storytelling. Developed by the studio responsible for the series, the game was designed to explore themes of emotional farewells and the lingering impact of past relationships, aiming to resonate with players through a contemplative, melancholic atmosphere.

The visual design and character illustrations reflect the soft, aesthetic sensibilities common in late-90s Japanese digital art. By emphasizing expressive character sprites and evocative background music, the production team sought to create an immersive experience that prioritized emotional pacing over complex gameplay mechanics. Upon its release, it became a recognized entry within its niche, valued by fans of the genre for its sincere tone and cohesive art direction.
