It is a long road to becoming a maid as there is an academy dedicated to it. It is part of the curriculum to train somewhere and have a close relationship with their master. It is there that the girls fulfill their dreams to become fully elegant maids.
Akito accepts a contract where four below-average maids in training will come to live with him. These "leftover and unwanted" maids will be able to graduate all together as long as their master awards them approval.
And so Akito and the maids' first rough year together begins...

Where it came from
Maid to Please was released in 2007 by MS Pictures as an original video animation, or OVA, during a period when the studio was active in producing independent adult-oriented animated content. The title emerged from the smaller-scale production environment of the mid-2000s Japanese animation market, where studios often focused on niche genre storytelling intended for direct-to-video distribution rather than theatrical or broadcast release.
The design and production of titles from this studio were typical of the era's minimalist aesthetic, prioritizing character-driven vignettes within a compressed runtime. As an obscure entry in the broader landscape of adult animation, it was produced as a low-budget project for a specialized demographic, receiving little critical attention outside of the dedicated enthusiast circles that followed MS Pictures' modest output during that time.
