A young man wakes up in an unfamiliar room. He has no memory about anything and can't even remember his own name.
When he first wakes up there are six maids waiting and worrying about him because he is their new master. One of them tells him his name is Akio. He then learns that he is in a special mansion and will be able to leave only after he manages to resolve his personal issues. The maids are supposed to help him do so, however with no memory he has no idea what personal "issues" he needs to resolve.

Where it came from
Maids in Dream was released in 2003 as an original video animation produced by Lemon Heart, a studio known for its niche output within the adult animation market. Emerging during a period when the maid cafe aesthetic was gaining significant cultural traction in Japan, the production sought to capitalize on the popularity of service-oriented fantasy themes by blending standard character archetypes with the specific tropes common to the studio's catalog at the time.
The animation reflects the aesthetic standards of early 2000s direct-to-video anime, prioritizing character-focused vignettes over complex narrative arcs. Like many projects from Lemon Heart, the work was designed to cater to a specialized audience, maintaining a functional, utilitarian approach to design that prioritized the immediate visual appeal typical of the era's sub-genre conventions rather than broad critical reception or mainstream artistic innovation.
