Based on a manga "Noroiya Shimai" written by Hirarin and serialized in Monthly Comic Ryuu.
It is a story about a pair of sisters who work as "noroiya" (cursers) using magic in a fantasy world. One day a big tree suddenly appears in a forest, and tall buildings that look like they are from our world can be seen entangled in it. The two sisters go there to investigate and get ported to our world. They then encounter two children who are startled by the sisters' sudden appearance and rush back home but at home they see their parents turned into monsters...

Where it came from
Majokko Shimai no Yoyo to Nene, known in English as Magical Sisters Yoyo and Nene, was released in 2014 by the animation studio ufotable. The film was produced to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the studio, which sought to pivot from its reputation for dark, action-heavy works like Fate/Zero to a more vibrant, fantasy-oriented family film. It is based on the manga Noroiya Shimai, written by the duo Hirarin, and was directed by Takayuki Hirao.
The film's aesthetic reflects ufotable’s signature high-fidelity digital compositing, applied here to a whimsical tale of two magical sisters tasked with resolving a rift between the modern world and a fantasy realm. Critics noted the film’s distinctive visual polish and its departure from typical magical girl tropes, aiming for a grounded emotional narrative amidst a highly stylized, colorful environment. While it remains a niche entry in the studio's broader catalog, it is recognized for its technical ambition and commitment to world-building.
