Majime ni Fumajime Kaiketsu Zorori: Nazo no Otakara Daisakusen

Majime ni Fumajime Kaiketsu Zorori: Nazo no Otakara Daisakusen was released in 2006 as the first theatrical feature film based on Yutaka Hara's beloved children's book series. Produced by Sunrise and Ajia-do Animation Works, the movie expands upon the comedic adventures of the fox protagonist Zorori and his boar sidekicks, Ishishi and Noshishi, as they embark on a quest for a legendary treasure. The film was created to capitalize on the success of the television series that began in 2004, maintaining the franchise's hallmark blend of slapstick humor and lighthearted mischief.

The production team, led by director Tomohiro Nishimura, aimed to translate the episodic energy of the source material into a self-contained cinematic narrative that would appeal to the franchise's primary demographic of school-aged children. The design and character animation reflect the aesthetic established in the television adaptation, prioritizing expressive, exaggerated movements to capture the whimsical tone of Hara's illustrations. Upon its release, the film was received as a faithful expansion of the Zorori universe, reinforcing the character's status as a staple of contemporary Japanese children's literature and animation.
