10 years have passed. Following an injury that put Goro's career as a pitcher into a standstill, he prepares to restart his baseball career as a fielder. His family struggles with his decisions; especially his daughter Izumi, who doesn't know enough about her father to understand why he is so absent from their lives. Goro will stop at nothing until he's in the game once again; everything is now for the sake of the only gift he has to offer his children: Baseball.

Where it came from
Major: Message was released in 2011 as an original video animation that serves as a bridge between the conclusion of the Major anime series and the subsequent developments in the life of the protagonist, Goro Shigeno. Produced by SynergySP, the episode was created to provide fans with a glimpse into Goro's life following the emotional climax of the television series, focusing on his retirement from professional baseball due to injury and his transition into a new chapter of his career and family life.
The animation reflects the consistent visual style developed by SynergySP throughout their long-term stewardship of Takuya Mitsuda’s original manga series. While the production is designed to appeal primarily to long-standing followers of the franchise, it received praise for its focus on character maturation and the thematic resonance of legacy. The creative team aimed to maintain the series' hallmark blend of intense sports drama and grounded personal milestones, ensuring the episode felt like a natural continuation for the dedicated audience that followed the series through its six-season run.
