A cat-like alien from a distant galaxy, MuMu, arrives on Earth. His goal is to learn about home appliance technology on Earth to recover the technology his species has lost. The protagonist, Sakurako, has a typical university life, but everything changes with MuMu's arrival! What begins as an unexpected cohabitation quickly turns into a whirlwind of chaotic events. The chemistry between Sakurako and MuMu leads to a super-spectacular, appliance-filled, and cat comedy adventure.

Where it came from
Me and the Alien MuMu is a 2025 television series produced by OLM, representing the studio's expansion into contemporary whimsical character-driven narratives. Emerging from a landscape of increasingly complex seasonal anime, the series was conceived to offer a lighter, more grounded exploration of companionship that pivots away from traditional high-stakes action tropes.
The visual design and animation direction emphasize soft color palettes and expressive character modeling intended to mirror the series' gentle tone. While the production is a recent addition to OLM's extensive library, it has been noted by industry observers for its deliberate departure from the studio's typical genre staples, signaling a strategic intent to diversify their output for a broader, globally-minded audience.
