On February 29, 2000, a group of Möbius meteorites fell down to earth. These meteorites brought new material called Möbius Dust, which dissolves in air and can cause miracles. The day the Möbius meteorites fell was dubbed 2.29, and the economic disparity in Japan increased dramatically after that day. A group of people fed up with the wealth inequality fought back with acts of terrorism. The police established a special group to fight against the terrorists and a school to train members for that group.

Where it came from
Mebius Dust was produced by Doga Kobo and released as a television series in 2026. Coming from a studio well-regarded for its refined character animation and emotive storytelling, the series was developed to explore themes of transience and memory, fitting into a contemporary movement of atmospheric, introspective science fiction within the medium.
The visual identity of the series, defined by the studio's signature approach to lighting and character nuance, was crafted to evoke a sense of nostalgic melancholy. Upon its release, the project was noted for its technical precision and pacing, receiving a positive reception from viewers who appreciate Doga Kobo’s shift toward more philosophical, character-driven narratives.
