Where it came from
Mr.AFFECTiON was produced by Orange, the Japanese animation studio renowned for its mastery of 3D computer-generated imagery, as a commemorative music video for the Love Live! Sunshine!! franchise. Released in late 2019, the production serves as a centerpiece for the Aqours subunit Guilty Kiss, blending the studio's signature cel-shaded 3D character modeling with intricate, high-energy choreography that pushes the boundaries of traditional anime music video production.
The visual design emphasizes a sophisticated aesthetic, prioritizing fluid motion and polished lighting effects that distinguish it from standard 2D animation practices. Creative decisions were guided by a desire to provide a cinematic experience that honors the character identities of Guilty Kiss while showcasing the technical capabilities of Orange. Upon release, the work was widely praised by the fanbase for its seamless integration of digital art and character performance, cementing its status as a standout entry in the studio's portfolio.
