Muromi-san

Muromi-san, titled Namiuchigiwa no Muromi-san, was produced by the studio Tatsunoko Production and released in 2013 under the Starchild Records banner. The series is an adaptation of the manga by Keiji Ishiyama, which debuted in 2009. The narrative centers on a mermaid named Muromi who is accidentally caught by a high school student, leading to a series of surreal and humorous interactions involving various mythological creatures living in modern-day Japan.

The production team, led by director Tatsuya Yoshihara, utilized a distinct, fast-paced comedic style that aimed to capture the irreverent tone of the original manga. By blending mythological elements with contemporary slice-of-life tropes, the show sought to appeal to audiences familiar with quirky, gag-oriented animation.
