Nagagutsu wo Haita Neko no Boken

Nagagutsu wo Haita Neko no Boken, known in English as The Adventure of Puss in Boots, was produced by Toei Animation and aired in 1992. It serves as a television series continuation of the studio's long-running Puss in Boots franchise, which began with their influential 1969 feature film. The series was designed to adapt the whimsical tone of Charles Perrault's classic fairy tale for a younger audience, utilizing the character design of the iconic feline protagonist that had become a mascot for Toei's animation department.

The production team drew upon the visual language of established 1990s Japanese children's television, focusing on episodic adventures that emphasized comedy and lighthearted fantasy. While the series did not reach the same cultural saturation as the original feature, it remains a notable entry in the studio's catalog for its role in maintaining the legacy of the character, reflecting the animation styles and production workflows common to the Tokyo-based studio at the turn of the decade.
