Where it came from
The Nami Hexin (Nano Core) series, produced by Coastline Animation Studio, emerged during a period of significant growth for Chinese 3D animation in the mid-2010s. The 'Lianxi Pian 2015 Xinnian Special' was a standalone short released to celebrate the Lunar New Year, intended to maintain audience engagement with the show's futuristic, mecha-inspired universe while expanding upon the character dynamics between the central cast.
The design of the special reflects Coastline's focus on high-fidelity character modeling and fluid action sequences, hallmarks of their technical approach to the science fiction genre. As a brief seasonal offering, it was well-received by the established fanbase for its lighthearted departure from the main narrative's intensity, serving as a showcase for the studio's evolving capabilities in digital lighting and expressive animation.
