Where it came from
Night World was released in 2021 by Studio Daisy as an original net animation, serving as an experimental foray into atmospheric storytelling. The production was conceived during a period when independent animation studios were increasingly utilizing digital platforms to distribute niche, mood-driven narratives that eschewed traditional episodic structures in favor of concise, visual-heavy experiences.
The aesthetic direction was led by the studio's internal creative team, who aimed to evoke a sense of nocturnal urban isolation through a muted color palette and deliberate, slow-paced cinematography. Upon its release, the project garnered attention within digital animation circles for its technical execution and minimalist approach, marking a distinct point in Studio Daisy's portfolio as they transitioned toward more stylized, auteur-focused content.
