Ninja Box

Ninja Box originated as a multimedia project developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment, which launched alongside a manga series in Shueisha’s CoroCoro Comic and a Nintendo Switch game. Produced by Tatsunoko Production, the original net animation (ONA) series premiered in 2019 to bridge the gap between the interactive gameplay experience and the narrative world of the franchise. The project was designed to appeal to younger audiences by blending elements of creative construction with traditional ninja-themed action, reflecting the studio's historical expertise in high-energy, character-driven animation.

The aesthetic of the series emphasizes a bold, cartoony visual style that mirrors the toy-like nature of the 'Ninja Boxes' central to the plot. By utilizing bright, distinct character designs, Tatsunoko aimed to maintain continuity with the game’s visual language while providing a fast-paced viewing experience. Reception was generally aligned with its demographic, positioning the series as a supplementary piece of content intended to build brand engagement for the broader Ninja Box franchise during its initial release window.
