Where it came from
Noblesse: The Beginning of Destruction was produced by the South Korean studio Studio Animal and released in 2015 as a prequel to the popular webtoon series Noblesse by Son Jeho and Lee Kwangsu. The animation was created to serve as an introductory showcase for the franchise, aiming to translate the stylized, gothic atmosphere of the source material into a motion format for the first time.
The production sought to capture the high-stakes, supernatural conflict inherent in the series' lore, focusing on the history of the protagonist Cadis Etrama Di Raizel. While the project was met with interest from the established fanbase for its attempt to visualize the webtoon's aesthetic, it functioned primarily as a standalone promotional entry that preceded the later, more expansive anime adaptations produced by Production I.G.
