A tourism promotion anime for Ogaki City in the Gifu Prefecture. It is based on Oam Monogatari, a book about a woman who spent her coming-of-age during the Sengoku Era. Oam is the main character and is the daughter of Yamada Kyoreki who is a vassal to the warlord Ishida Mitsunari. It offered one of the few historical viewpoints of an noble teen/woman's life during the wars. The anime jumps between past the present as we learn about Oam's struggles at Ogaki Castle (which would become ground zero for Battle of Sekigahara which established Tokugawa as the shogunate), and how Oam escaped with her mother in the dead of night.

Where it came from
Oam Monogatari: Sono Natsu, Watashi ga Shitta koto was released in 2018 as an original net animation produced by Asura Film. The project emerged during a period of experimentation within the digital animation sector, where studios increasingly leveraged online platforms to distribute standalone narrative works that sought to evoke atmospheric, character-driven storytelling outside the traditional constraints of television broadcast cycles.
The animation reflects a minimalist aesthetic common to Asura Film's output during the late 2010s, prioritizing subtle environmental details and emotive character expressions to convey its themes of memory and summer nostalgia. While the ONA remains a niche entry within the studio's portfolio, it is noted by animation enthusiasts for its restrained pacing and its contribution to the growing body of independent digital shorts that defined the era's shift toward direct-to-audience release models.
