After buying a pair of shoes that end up hurting her feet, Nami returns to the shop feeling dissatisfied. There, she meets Lebno, the designer, who tells her, “I’ll make you a brand-new pair from scratch—but only if you’ll be my model.” The shoes are crafted by the artisan Miucha, leading to an unexpected and stylish encounter.

Where it came from
The One Piece Heroines project emerged from Toei Animation as a focused celebration of the female characters within Eiichiro Oda’s long-running pirate epic. Developed for a 2026 release, this special format was crafted to shift the narrative spotlight toward the backstories and personal evolutions of figures like Nami, Nico Robin, and others who have anchored the Straw Hat crew over several decades.
The design philosophy behind this production emphasizes a shift from high-stakes ensemble battles to intimate, character-driven storytelling. By isolating these key figures, the creative team aimed to explore the thematic depth and visual evolution of the series' female leads, utilizing contemporary animation techniques to refine their iconic character designs for a modern audience.
