Oshi ga Buka ni Narimashita

Oshi ga Buka ni Narimashita, which translates to My Idol Became My Subordinate, debuted in 2025 as a digital-first ONA series. Produced to capitalize on the burgeoning subgenre of idol-office workplace comedies, the series explores the power dynamics and comedic friction that arise when a former pop star enters the corporate world under the supervision of their most dedicated fan. The narrative structure draws heavily from contemporary slice-of-life tropes, emphasizing character-driven humor rather than high-stakes drama.

The character designs and visual aesthetic were crafted to blend clean, modern corporate office environments with the heightened, colorful sensibilities associated with idol culture. By contrasting the rigid aesthetics of the professional workplace with the expressive, high-energy visuals of the protagonist's past life, the production team sought to highlight the absurdity of the central premise. Upon release, the series was received as a lighthearted examination of the blurred boundaries between personal fanaticism and professional objectivity.
