Where it came from
Oz is a short film produced by WIT Studio as part of the studio's broader efforts to showcase experimental animation techniques and narrative brevity. Released in the early 2020s, the project reflects the studio's ongoing commitment to exploring diverse aesthetic styles beyond their traditional long-form series work, serving as a creative exercise for their animation teams to refine character fluidity and atmospheric world-building.
The design of the film highlights a minimalist yet evocative visual language, prioritizing kinetic motion and distinct color palettes to convey its story. It was received within the animation community as a technical showcase, praised for the crisp integration of line work and digital lighting effects that have become hallmarks of WIT Studio's contemporary portfolio.
