OZMAFIA!!

OZMAFIA!! is a 2016 television anime adaptation based on the original otome visual novel developed by Poni-Pachet SY. Produced by the studio Creators in Pack, the series was designed to translate the game's elaborate narrative—which reimagines classic characters from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz within the setting of rival mafia families—into a series of comedic, short-form episodes. The production sought to capture the aesthetic charm of the source material while emphasizing a lighter, slapstick tone to differentiate it from the more serious, drama-focused original game.

The character designs were overseen to maintain the distinct visual identity established by the game's original artist, Satoi. By condensing the complex branching storylines of the visual novel into brief segments, the studio aimed to appeal to fans already familiar with the lore. While the series received moderate attention for its experimental format and the whimsical reimagining of familiar literary archetypes, it remains primarily a companion piece for dedicated enthusiasts of the franchise.
