Pikachu Koori no Daibouken

Pikachu Koori no Daibouken, known in English as Pikachu's Ice Adventure, was produced by OLM, Inc. and released in 2008 as a special short film. It was designed to accompany the theatrical release of the eleventh Pokémon feature film, Giratina and the Sky Warrior. These shorts were a staple of the Japanese Pokémon theatrical experience, intended to provide a lighthearted, dialogue-free narrative focusing on the franchise's mascot, Pikachu, and his interactions with other creatures, following a tradition established in the late 1990s to keep younger audiences engaged before the main feature.

The film was part of a broader creative effort by OLM to maintain the charm of the Pokémon brand through high-quality animation that relied on physical comedy and expressive character work rather than complex dialogue. This specific entry centered on a winter-themed mystery involving a drifting ice floe and various Ice-type Pokémon. It was received as a standard, reliable installment in the long-running series of shorts, appreciated by fans for its whimsical tone and the signature animation style that defined the mid-2000s era of the Pokémon anime franchise.
