Where it came from
Released in 2014, Meet The Pegasus serves as the sixth feature film in the long-running Chinese animated franchise Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf. Produced by Creative Power Entertaining, the film was designed to coincide with the Lunar New Year holiday, a peak period for family-oriented cinema in China. It shifts the series' focus to the legend of Pegasus, blending traditional folklore themes with the established comedic dynamics of the show's anthropomorphic protagonists.
The film was helmed by director Jianrong Huang, who aimed to expand the franchise’s visual scope through enhanced 3D animation techniques. The narrative design prioritizes themes of courage and friendship, aiming to resonate with the series' core demographic of young children. Upon its release, it was received as a standard entry in the franchise, maintaining the series' established aesthetic and tonal consistency while providing a seasonal cultural touchstone for domestic audiences.
