Where it came from
The Poison Apple by OTOIRO is a distinctive art object that draws heavy inspiration from the iconic motifs of dark fairy tales. Developed as part of the studio's broader exploration of atmospheric and stylized design, the piece reinterprets the classic poisoned fruit trope through a contemporary lens, emphasizing a sleek, minimalist aesthetic rather than traditional animation styling.
The design team at OTOIRO focused on creating a tactile experience, utilizing high-quality materials to provide a sense of weight and gravity to the object. Upon its release, it was noted by design enthusiasts for its deliberate departure from kitsch, instead leaning into a sophisticated, moody visual language that aligns with the studio’s signature approach to interactive and static design projects.
