Poka Poka Planet

Poka Poka Planet was produced by Studio Gohan during a period when the studio was experimenting with softer, more meditative animation styles intended to evoke a sense of digital tranquility. Developed as part of a conceptual anthology series in the early 2010s, the piece was designed to serve as a visual lullaby, prioritizing gentle color palettes and fluid, non-linear character movements to stand apart from the frantic energy common in contemporary animation of that era.

The aesthetic direction was led by the studio's senior concept artists, who aimed to synthesize traditional hand-drawn techniques with subtle, early-stage procedural shading to create a warm, tactile feel. Upon its release, the work was well-received by critics for its minimalist approach and atmospheric storytelling, establishing it as a hallmark of the studio's niche portfolio and a favorite among collectors who favor understated, artisanal production styles.
