Pokémon: Eevee & Friends

Released in 2013 as a short feature accompanying the theatrical debut of Pokémon the Movie: Genesect and the Legend Awakened, Eevee & Friends was produced by OLM, Inc. This short was designed to capitalize on the immense popularity of Eevee and its various evolutions, which had become cultural icons within the franchise. The production served as an lighthearted, character-focused ensemble piece intended to showcase the distinct personalities and visual traits of all the Eeveelutions available at the time, including the newly introduced Sylveon.

The short features a narrative centered on Eevee and its evolved forms gathering for a party in a secret forest, a premise that allowed for a vibrant, character-driven animation style. Directed by Kunihiko Yuyama, a veteran of the Pokémon film franchise, the project utilized a more whimsical and gentle aesthetic compared to the high-stakes action typically found in the main feature films. It was well-received by fans as a charming supplement to the theatrical experience, effectively building anticipation for the introduction of the Fairy-type to the Pokémon ecosystem.
